Becky Preston, age 62, resident of Upatoi, GA., died on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Saturday, December 17, 2011, 11 a.m. with Reverend Chip Grantham officiating. Mrs. Preston, daughter of the late Johnie B. Eidson and Grace Ann Cupp Eidson, was born June 2, 1949 in Fort Knox, KY. She was a member and former secretary of Upatoi United Methodist Church and was a dental assistant in the Columbus area for over 35 years. Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Patrick Preston. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Preston of Upatoi, GA; one son, David Preston and his wife Tammy of Kenya; one sister, Suzanne Robinson of Columbus; two grandchildren, Wesley Preston and Hannah Preston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Upatoi United Methodist Church, 13730 Macon Road, Upatoi, GA 31829.
