LEXINGTON – William Claude Wallace, 90, widower of Adelaide Sloan Wallace, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at home. Mr. Wallace was born, August 22, 1921 in York County, SC and grew up in Charlotte, NC, Mecklenburg County. Mr. Wallace was a World War II Army veteran and was the last of eight children born to Edward Bishop and Minnie St. Clair Wallace. He was a retired real estate broker and appraiser. Mr. Wallace was married to Adelaide Sloan Wallace on October 5, 1947 in Charlotte, NC. She passed away on August 14, 2005, they had been married for fifty-seven years.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his two daughters, Claudia W. and husband, Larry Branham, Donna W. and husband, Danny Rawls and one son, Jeffrey “Jeff” S. and wife, Renee’ Renfroe Wallace, three grandchildren, Hunter Alexandria Wallace, Scott and Jessica Branham, Rusty and Alison Branham and four great-grandchildren, Jon, Katherine, Kellan and Kinsley Branham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel with entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the funeral home chapel.
