William G. Jaeger

CHAPIN - William "Bill" G. Jaeger passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born in Jersey City, NJ on March 14, 1945, he was a son of the late William A. Jaeger and Agnes Haas Jaeger. He served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Bill retired after 27 years in Human Resources with AT&T but continued in the field for several years after retirement. Bill’s favorite pastime was spending time in his garden and fishing on Lake Murray.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with interment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Carole and children, Renee (Tripp) Harris, Keith (Lisa) Jaeger; 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald W. Jaeger.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 525 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 or to the Cancer Research organization of your choice or your own special charity. The family would like to thank, Dr. Ann Hutchinson, Dr. Tripp Jones (retired) the nurses and staff of the SC Oncology Center and the nurses and staff on the 8th floor oncology unit of Lexington Medical Center. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
