Walter Watt Gregg Jr.

Services for Walter W. Gregg, Jr., 85, will be held at 1:00 p.m. December 20, 2022 at St. John’s Episcopal. A visitation will be held immediately following the service at his home, 6124 Moss Springs Road, Columbia, SC 29209.

Walt passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022. Born in Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Watt Gregg, Sr. and Saress Ellerbe Gregg. He was a graduate of The University of South Carolina. During his professional life he worked for Emmerson Electric, Westinghouse NFD and VP of South Carolina Tees Inc. He was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where he served in numerous capacities.

Surviving are his sons, Walter Watt Gregg, III (Susan Denton) of Winchester, Va., William James Gregg (Staci Fuller) of Chapin, SC; grandchildren, Meredith, Parker, Kemp, Brady, Elise, and Rivers Gregg; and sister, Virginia “Ginger” Gregg Smith of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kemp Gregg, his sister, Saress “Bunny” Ellerbe Marshall and brother, William “Bill” Maxwell Gregg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Episcopal, 2827 Wheat Street, Columbia, SC 29205.
