A memorial service to celebrate the life of Sally Ferguson Barker will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Centennial ARP Church, with visitation prior to the service from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Crowders Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Crowders Creek, North Carolina.
Sally Barker, age 90, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on November 2, 1933, in Crowders Creek, North Carolina, to the late Fred Campbell and Helen Riddle Ferguson.
Sally is survived by her brother, Mike Ferguson, and leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to her family. She is survived by her children, Beth Beckham (Earl) of Aiken, South Carolina, Dale Barker (Nan) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lyn Schultz (Doug) of Columbia.
Sally's love and influence extended to her six cherished grandchildren: Libby Finley (Alton), Thomas Beckham, Scott Schultz (Molly), James Schultz (Lauren), Morgan Barker (Jackie), and Campbell Barker (Shannon). She also welcomed six great-grandchildren into her heart: Margaret, James, and Ben Finley, London Williams, and Sally and Tripp Schultz.
Sally attended Lenoir Rhyne College and was an employee of Richland County School District One, Constan, and University of South Carolina Earth Science Research Institute.
She was the wife of The Reverend Dr. James C. Barker and served by his side in Richburg, South Carolina, Greenville, Texas, and Columbia, South Carolina. She was a member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Sally's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family, friends, and church, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her warm and welcoming spirit, her dedication to her loved ones, and her boundless kindness will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
