Roger Lane Butler

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at ll:00 a.m. at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 10220 Garners Ferry Road, Eastover, SC 29044 with burial to follow at the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Born in Loris, SC on November 2, 1943, he was the son of Ralph Lane and Isabelle Rheuark Butler. He retired from the Traffic Engineering Department of the City of Columbia after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Beech Creek Golf Course (his favorite job ever) and part time at Enterprise Car Rental. Roger loved to fish and camp in the swamp, He loved his God, his family and Freckles, his pet Beagle. And on more than one occasion, he would probably tell you a joke or two.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Sylvia Butler Sarvis, Kathy Butler Rast, Karen Butler, and Vickie Butler; his brothers J.Ricky Butler and William Rheuark and brother-in-law Larry Lomas.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Silvia Bernasconi Butler; Children, Stephanie Butler Jackson (Barry) and Christopher Wayne Butler (Tiffany); Grandchildren, Savannah Bree Butler, Bailey Walsh Butler, Austin and Justin Jackson. Sisters, Paulette Butler Lomas, Linda Butler Barksdale (Dick) and Cheryl Butler Henry (Jim). Brother, Samuel Elton Butler; mother-in-law Gertrud M. Bernasconi and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
