Robert Ivan Mitchell

Mr. Mitchell died Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Elois Moore Mitchell and Mary Emily Ayers Mitchell. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Bob worked as an inspector for the Department of Agriculture for 35 years. Dedicated to his wife, and a strong Christian, he was a lay minister and sang in the choir. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church in Blythewood, SC. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, singing, and dancing.

Surviving are his wife, Laura Pearce Mitchell; brother, Charles Mitchell (Kay) of Lebanon, TN; brother-in-law, Joe W. Pearce Jr. (Carolyn) of Florence, SC; sister-in-law, Barbara P. Ohanesian (Greg) of Bennettsville, SC; nephews, Charles S. Mitchell Jr. (Nicole) of Lebanon, TN, Glenn V. Ohanesian (Karolan) of Surfside Beach, SC, Joe W. Pearce III (Lacey) of Greenville, SC, and David Coker (Julie), Michael Coker, Jason Coker (Casey), all of Florence, SC; and nieces, Mary Beth Richardson (Jonathon) of Lebanon, TN; Anna Kay Mueller (Peter) of Brentwood, TN, and Katie Miller (Sam) of Lebanon, TN.
