Columbia - Rebecca Wyker Hawksley attended the Columbus School for Girls and Jefferson School of Nursing, where she met and fell in love with Vaughn Hawksley, who was attending the Medical College to become a doctor. They were married June 26, 1965 in Valley Forge PA.
While living in Columbia, SC she worked as a nurse at Baptist Hospital in the preemie ward, when they moved to San Francisco she worked at California Pacific Medical Center and Letterman Hospital in the Presidio, she loved working with babies and caring for them.
Becky loved volunteering at Harvest Hope, she was a master gardener and worked at the Clemson Extension. For many years she helped with the yearly plant sales for the Master Gardeners and she made many lifelong friends in the process of helping others.
She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Vaughn Hawksley and loving daughter, Catherine Pitts, son in law Tipton Pitts and grandson Hawksley Pitts. She is survived by two sisters, Susan LaPorte, Husband Barney LaPorte, Daughters Beth Suber (kids Nathan and Claire Suber), Pam Harrison, husband Dale Harrison (kids Abby and Leah Harrison), and Martha Anderton, husband Bob Anderton (kids Robin Anderton, husband Jeff, Leigh Anderton, son Pax Anderton , Beau Anderton, wife Stacy Anderton, kids Eli and Hayden Anderton) and Nephews Adam Hoster, (kids Drew and Miranda Hoster), Ben Hoster and wife Kristen Hoster, (kids Savannah and Tahlia Hoster)
She was pre-deceased by sister Debra Hoster and husband Al Hoster.
