Peggy Abbott Sutton

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Peggy Abbott Sutton, 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with Rev. David Spears officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens. Pallbearers will be Charlie Abbott, Barry Abbott, Homer Rose, Ray Hill, Phil Hill, and Jimmy Sutton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sutton passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles Leroy Abbott and Genova Rucker Abbott. She loved gardening, fishing, and Lake Wateree. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Eason Memorial Church.

Surviving are her son, Harold Hill (Betsy) of Eastover, SC; daughter, Jennifer Hill Glover of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Kinsley and Sara Hill; brother, Donald Abbott (Janet) of Lexington, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving family members.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Barry Sutton and her sister, Carolyn Essie Abbott.
