She was born and raised in Grundy, VA. She moved to South Carolina to pursue her dream in nursing. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and strong mentor, helping shape young new nurses into strong and compassionate nurses. She was known as “Nurse Momma” and “Momma Pam” to much of the staff she worked with in her 24 years of nursing, touching all whom she worked with, worked for, and cared for. She gave all her love to all her patients. She dedicated her time and talents into loving and caring for all her patients.
Pam was a nurse for 24 years, first working at Buchanan General in Grundy, VA. She then moved to Prisma Health Richland, then Prisma Health Baptist Hospital and their free clinic until she had to medically retire. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer with so much dignity and grace. She always had a smile on her face, even on her worst days.
Pam lived and breathed her faith in the Lord every day. She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her with that beautiful smile that she always sported.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Pam’s care team at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital, who loved and cared for her amidst the COVID-19 pandemic; for keeping us updated as often as possible because we weren’t able to see her until her last day with us; for bending over backwards to make it possible for us to see her and be by her bedside, loving and praying for our precious Pam.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One service will be held here in SC and another will be held in VA for family and friends that aren’t able to travel. Service announcements will be posted at a later date.
