Emily,
I'm sorry to hear your mother has passed from our world. We always looked forward to her visits, she would joke that it was a party. She was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. 
Emily, please take comfort in knowing you were an attentive and doting daughter, especially during these last years. You kept her the way she would have wanted.
I will miss her.

My deepest sympathy to the family.  Muriel and I grew up together in Clemson, from first grade through high school graduation. She was always so pretty and sweet.

Emily, my heart goes out to you. I'm sorry to hear the news. My dad died in December. It is easier  knowing they lived full lives.

Merl was my neighbor for 17yrs In Forest Lake Place. We experienced many good times together. I will especially miss her this fall when the football season starts. The Clemson USC rivalry was always an interesting time. lol

There are so many wonderful memories of Muriel that it is difficult to single one out.  She had such a sweet, friendly disposition and never knew a stranger.  Muriel was one of the first people I met, a next door neighbor, when I moved to Charlotte in 1977, and she remains one of the dearest friends I will ever have.  She was a safe haven for my children when I had to work late and they were by themselves after school...they always knew they could turn to Muriel next door for safety and affection.  But the memory I will always hold dear is a very personal one.  During the years that we were neighbors, it was necessary for me to have major surgery.  My husband was there on the day of the surgery but returned to work the next day, when often the discomfort is worse.  I would have been all alone on that day had it not been for Muriel.  I will always remember that during that second day, whenever I awoke from a fitful nap, ready for more medication, Muriel would be mopping my forehead with a cool washcloth, offering a sweet smile, a sip of ice water, and encouraging words.  She was always supportive, always thoughtful, and always a great lady.

Muriel was our next door neighbor when I was growing up. She was always there with an open door, sweetness and kindness. She was like a second mother during those years and I knew she was my safety and security if I needed her. I remember hours of playing in her yard and in her home. I remember climbing the cherry tree in her front yard and eating cherries until I couldn't eat any more... and she always let us come back for more. I remember the peppermints she would always have at hand. I remember sitting on her porch while she and my mother visited and she was so sweet and patient. In my eyes as a child she was loving and kind, but in my eyes as an adult she was a true gentle soul and wonderful woman.

I loved my Aunt Murial! Always smiling, funny, lovely and elegant,...a true southern lady.
