BLYTHEWOOD – Michael Joseph Lowder, 24, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Fort Jackson Main Post Chapel located on Fort Jackson at 4580 Strom Thurmond Boulevard, Columbia SC 29207. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Dunbar Funeral Home located at 4219 Hard Scrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29223. Born in Leavenworth, Kansas, Michael was a son of Colonel, U.S. Army Retired, Joseph Lowder and Cheryl Lowder. He was a 2010 graduate of Spring Valley High School and a 2015 graduate of Clemson University earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Michael was a proud and confident young man, cared for and respected by everyone he came in contact with, full of life who loved his entire family especially his sister Rachel, his brother Patrick, and his girlfriend Kaley. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, avid about all sports, and he was very passionate about his Clemson Tiger Football Team. Michael had just started working for Route Match Software in Atlanta, GA. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Rachel Lowder (George) Lamprinakos of Columbia; brother, Patrick Elliott Lowder of Columbia; paternal grandfather, Colonel, U.S. Army Retired, Henry I. Lowder of Alexandria, VA; maternal grandparents, Glentice and Jane Elliott of Box Springs, GA and Ken and Betty Laube of Kennesaw, GA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Marcia Ann Lowder and maternal grandparents, Kenneth Fischer and Rosemarie Elliott.
