Margie A. White

COLUMBIA - Margie Adams White, 93, affectionately known as “Denie” by her grandchildren, passed on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Born November 30, 1928 in Grimesland, NC, Margie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time in her yard planting flowers and reading her Bible. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, was very active in their prayer group and taught Sunday school for many years. She also served with the Red Cross for many years and was a charter member of Women to Women.

Margie was married to Clarence White for 45 years until his death on September 25, 2006.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence; father, Snowdie Adams; mother, Ladygold Adams; sister, Hazel Moore and brother, William Earl Adams.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Adams Sutton and Michael White, and daughter-in-law, Robin Templeton White; two granddaughters, Brittany White and Rebecca White; grandson, Andrew Sutton; brother, Talmage Adams; sister Mary Askew, and many other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to thank Margie’s loving caregivers who helped take good care of her over the years.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with the funeral service for Margie to begin at 11:00 a.m. The committal service will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery following the funeral.

Memorials may be made to the Purple Heart Association and Temple Baptist Church.
