COLUMBIA - Lisa Rene Cogdill Pfeifer died peacefully at her home in Columbia with her family by her side on June 26, 2017. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for two long years but now has found serenity in God’s eternal home. Lisa was born on October 20, 1959 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was the daughter of Gary Alan Cogdill and the late Ellen Simmons Cogdill. She was also the loving wife of 26 years to David Michael Pfeifer and blessed with one daughter Madison Elise Pfeifer. Lisa’s family and friends will treasure her fun loving nature and her sincere caring of those she held dear. She loved gathering everyone together for trips, playing games, going to concerts and family dinners. Lisa was a natural storyteller who captivated others with stories and jokes. She loved beach trips with family and vacations with friends. All of those who loved her will miss her genuine nature, joyful spirit, and beautiful smile. Lisa attended Spring Valley High School and held the position of Corporate Secretary at Seibels for 35 years. Lisa served as Seibels’ chairperson for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for over 5 years, working hard to raise funds to fight the disease. Lisa was a member of St. John Neumann Church for 15 years. She is survived by her father, Gary Cogdill of Irmo; brother, Alan Cogdill and wife Kris of Chapin; sisters, Melanie Lillian Cogdill of Columbia, Kelly Hennelly and husband Tom of Atlanta, GA, and Suzie Yeager and husband Jeffrey of Peachtree City, GA; her in-laws, Joe and Pat Pfeifer of Bluffton, IN; brother-in-law, Rich Pfeifer and wife Jackie; sister-in-law, Jenny Esmond both of Bluffton, IN; and brother-in-law, David Ewald of Des Moines, IA, whom was married to the late Lisa Pfeifer Ewald. She will be truly missed by her many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7 at 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, 3926 Devine Street in Columbia.
