James Walker Cuddy

James Walker Cuddy died Monday, Sept 4, 2023, in Columbia, South Carolina. A private memorial service for family will be held Saturday, September 16, in the memorial garden at Shandon Presbyterian Church Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel is assisting the family.

Born in Durham, NC, Jim was the son of the late James D. Cuddy and Della H. Kramer (Henry). He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Jim was the Chief Federal Probation Officer for the State of South Carolina. After retiring from the Federal Government, he worked for the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. He was a long-time member of Shandon Presbyterian Church and the Columbia Sailing Club.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Anne Scott Cuddy. He is survived by two daughters, Jan C Zegel (Barry) of Los Angeles, Calif. and Katherine A Cuddy of Columbia, Granddaughter, Lauren E Zegel; sister-in-law Emma S Christopher (George); niece Pamela C Howie (Brian); nephew, Louis G Christopher (Stacey) and companion Beverly Watkins.

Memorials may be made to Shandon Presbyterian Church.
