Hedwig “Hedy” S. Wilson

COLUMBIA - Hedwig “Hedy” S. Wilson died September 13, 2022. Born August 13, 1933, in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late John Seyfert and Mable Williams Seyfert, and widow of James E. Wilson, her beloved husband of 62 years. They moved to Columbia SC in 1966.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Donna Wilson Strickland of Lexington, S. C.; a son, Robert/Bob Wilson (Barbara) of Coppell, Texas; granddaughter, Dargin Seaver (Bobby), of Columbia; grandsons, Rob Wilson (Lindsey) of Frisco, Texas and Nick Wilson of Dallas, Texas; great-grandsons, Bryson Seaver of Columbia, Beckham Wilson and Jenner Wilson of Frisco, Texas; great-granddaughters, Bobbie Miranda Seaver, Caitlyn Seaver and Bayleigh Seaver of Columbia, Lennon Wilson and Mayer Wilson of Frisco, Texas; as well as other loving relatives.

She was predeceased by her brother John Seyfert and sister-in-law Dorothy Seyfert; and son-in-law, Wayne Strickland.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia. She was a devoted mother and housewife, and loved entertaining her family and friends. She had been an active tennis and bridge player, and member of Rockbridge Club and Seraband Dance Club.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 22 prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (The Good Shepherd Room), 1715 Bull Street, Columbia. The service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park (845 Leesburg Road).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
