Gilbert Lee Thompson was born in Thune, Nebraska on August 26, 1939 and passed away on May 14, 2023 of cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Thompson; his sons, David Thompson and Brian Thompson and his daughters, Jennifer Mahan, Jodi Stephens and Jessica Warren.
He served in the US Army as a code breaker for NSA and worked as a manager of computer services for several companies. However, he loved farming and worked steadily on his 12 acres in Gaston, SC. He was a man of great faith and will be sorely missed by friends and family until we meet again in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church of Gaston. Inurnment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
