Mrs. Elizabeth Hipp Phillips

COLUMBIA - Memorial service for Elizabeth Hipp Phillips, 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Keenan Chapel, with entombment in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Phillips died Sunday, May 25, 2014. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Elwood L. and Rebecca Stanton Hipp. She was a retired cosmetologist with Hazelle Beauty Shop and was member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.

Surviving are her daughters, Nancy P. Hughes (Terry) of Columbia, Fran P. Hoffman (David) of Elwood, Ind.; son-in-law, John Gardner of Columbia; four grandchildren, Nancy Quinn (Michael), Michael Berry (Buffy), Michael Hoffman, Robert Hoffman (Dianna); four great-grandchildren, Ethan Quinn, Liam Berry, Noah Weimart, Sage Hoffman; four great-great-grandchildren; beloved nieces, Linda Hipp (Milton) of Chapin, Jackie McDonald (Zolly) of Charlotte, N.C. She was predeceased by her husband, William Francis Phillips; daughter, Julie P. Gardner; grandson, Vincent Griffin; and two brothers, Francis D. McDonald and Elwood L. Hipp.
