Delores Marita Howard

HOPKINS - Delores Marita Howard, born November 21, 1951, passed peacefully in Lexington County Hospital from COVID-19 complications at the age of 69 on Saturday, January 23, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 28, 2021 at Horrell Hill Baptist Church, 920 Horrell Hill Road, Hopkins, SC 29061, with burial following the service in Horrell Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

A native of Bluefield, Va., she was born November 21, 1951 to Curtis Edward Roten and Virginia Louise Roten. Delores, also known by many as Loddy, Sissy, and Granny loved children and had a strong sense of family. She was a very loving person and cared about everybody. Her smile, and love for music, singing and dancing will be remembered most.

She took great pride in graduating from Midlands Tech at age 60. She loved to attend church both locally and when visiting out of state family members. Loddy loved to crochet, sew, and make quilts (especially with her mother and sisters). She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching Christmas and Elvis movies. The thing loved most was her personality and whole heartedness.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 36 and a half years of marriage, James Jackson Howard; her son, Steven Crowder, his wife Casey Crowder and their son, Dillan and his wife, Marissa Crowder, and daughter, Shelby Crowder, Son, Jeffrey Crowder and his children Corey, Daniel, Nicholas, and Rebecca, Daughter, Shirley Crowder, Daughter, Cortney LeVasseur, her son, Shane and son, Kristian.
