Born in Livermore, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Myrtle M. Murphy Mathews. She was a graduate of Livermore High School. Mrs. Coffman was a member of Woodfield Park Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Coffman held a membership with the Woodfield Park Homeowners Association. She also enjoyed being a booster club member and band mom for Spring Valley High School and Richland Northeast High School for many years. Mrs. Coffman was a lifelong fan of The University of Kentucky Basketball.
Survivors include sons, Keith (Saron) Coffman of Irmo, Michael (Cristin) Coffman of Lexington; daughter, Lesa (Glen) Connelly of Irmo; grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin and Stacey Coffman, Marshall, and Anna Coffman, Breadan and Jason Cogan, Michelle, Rachel, and Daniel Connelly.
The funeral service for Mrs. Coffman will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Woodfield Park Baptist Church, 1834 Morninglo Ln, Columbia, at 2 o’clock with The Reverend Jeff Phillips and The Reverend Brian McKillup officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. Members of the Ruth Sunday School Class are invited to serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock, Tuesday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
