Shirley Morgan, age 87, of Foxworth, Mississippi passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where her father was a mason. Throughout her years of being a working woman and mom she worked for Rutter Rex, as a CNA for Columbia Health and rehab, she got promoted to Activities Director. She was able to be grandfathered in to a position for a Social Worker and she did the necessary requirements to get her license in that position. She excelled well in this field and the residents loved her. She found her calling. She was so passionate about helping those residents. She was good at making people feel seen, heard, and most of all loved. Her ability to get people to open up and talk to her did not end at work, but it carried over into her family life and friendships. She was always a shoulder to lean on, someone to talk to when you needed to just be heard, and she would always say something silly to make you laugh. She was quick to encourage everyone she came in contact with. She would pray for you or tell you how beautiful or amazing you are. One of her hobbies included crocheting. When she worked at the nursing home she made crochet items to sell, to raise money to buy the residents Christmas presents. That’s just how thoughtful and giving she was. She has crocheted blankets, hats, mittens, magnets, house shoes, and most famously she crocheted most of the great grandchildren turtles. As she got older and her health declined she wasn’t able to crochet anymore. She loved watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on tv. She would sing as loud as she could. That was her daily church service. She got saved while watching those services. She lived a full life surrounded by a big family and she loved everyone no matter how often she seen you or talked to you. Her love flows through us and she will live on through all of us.
