Jimmy Fred Weaver, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the age of 83. Jimmy was born September 4, 1940, in Lambert, MS. He was the only child of Eddie and Mary Ola Lipe Weaver. He grew up in Crystal Springs, MS. Jimmy served in the National Guard before a lifelong career as a Lead Installer for Western Electric, BellSouth, AT&T and Lucent Technologies until his retirement. He has been a resident of Columbia since 2015.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Jeri Phillips Weaver and his great granddaughter, Arianna Elizabeth Lee Wilks. He is survived by the love of his life, Jamie; two children: Beth Weaver Lee (Rick Dykes) of Canton, MS, Beverly Weaver Sloniewsky (Mike) of Katy, TX; five grandchildren: Blake Lee, Brittany Lee, Taylor McAlpin, Maddie McAlpin and Ellie McAlpin; and his faithful caregiver David Lee.
There will be a memorial service at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday March 22, 2024 at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until service time.
