Pamela Carol Speer died Aug. 4, 2017 after a short illness. Services were private. She is the daughter of William and Dixie Speer. She is survived by sisters Janet Peek (Terry), Deborah McMillen (Randall), Martha Rouby (David) and brother, Paul Speer (Robin). Also surviving are nieces and nephews Brian and Tyler Peek; Sarah, Travis, Lucas McMillen; Ryan and Kristen Speer; Zach and Trevor Bogart; and Reid and Logan Smith. Pamela was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters degree in Library Science. She retired in 1997 after 30 years as an elementary Media Specialist with the Columbia Public Schools. She may be remembered as the Panda Lady, sharing her extensive collection at several schools. Pamela was a 50- year member of Zeta Tau Alpha, member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Honorary International Organization for Women Educators and a retired member of Missouri State Teachers Association. She was a member of Missouri Methodist Church/Bratton-Cunningham Circle. She is predeceased by her parents and niece, Abby Speer.
