Mary Elizabeth McGavock

On April 11, 2023, Mary Elizabeth McGavock passed away at the age of 92. She was the mother of four boys Rob (Brenda), Richard (Chris), David (Joni) and Dan (Karen). She was grandmother of ten; Cara (Arlin) Otto, Josie Weishaar, Richard Jr., Dawn (Scotty) Kuntz, Katie Fogelman, Hannah (Kyle) Thach, Megan (Adam) Toliver, Ryan McGavock, Nicholas (Laura) McGavock, Kristopher McGavock and and a great grandmother to 16.

Mary was born on November 25, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jack and Iva Bolli. She grew up on a farm outside of Columbia at Midway. She graduated from Hickman High School and attended the University of Missouri. She married Robert Kent (Bob) McGavock who passed away in 1989. She worked at Shelter Insurance for 32 years. She passed numerous insurance certification exams and rose to be a senior underwriter. She loved her work and made numerous friends there. Mary loved to travel. She also traveled through her love of reading. Books were her constant companion and passion. Mary's gentle manner endeared her to people. She absolutely loved being with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bob and her brothers Jack, Don, and Dick. She is survived by her brother Ed and sister Agnes.
