Julie was born June 22nd, 1956 in Bonne Terre, Missouri to Raymond and Theresa (Merseal) Thebeau. She was a graduate of Potosi High School, Potosi, Missouri.
Julie worked at Wal-Mart in the accounting department for 8 years. She then spent time with her children at home for a number of years. In the early 1990’s, she became the owner of Embroider It, she eventually grew this business along with a few of her close friends who also were part owners. Their store was open until November 2021.
Julie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; and a longstanding member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She volunteered for a number of school related groups and activities while her children were in school. She was part of the Missouri Extension Program in Columbia for a number of years. Julie was a great seamstress, from altering wedding dresses to making a number of dresses for her family and their friends. She even made her own wedding dress. She enjoyed creating and encouraged others to explore their talents as well. She was always willing to pass on her knowledge.
She was an avid sports enthusiast and was always at a game either watching her kids, grandkids, or even other kids she just knew. The door was always open, and she would never let you go unfed, a mom to all who needed. Her chicken n’ dumplings were famous, and she could often be found breaking out in song and dance throughout the kitchen. She loved to play Mahjong with her friends. Julie was a kind and caring soul who impacted many lives in such a positive way.
She always had time to give. To support those around her in reaching their goals. To drive kids to training or activities. To volunteer at church. To teach new crafts. To bake cookies. To explore a new place. To read a book or see a movie together. To give advice or just to listen. She was always there; she always made the time.
As her youngest granddaughter said – “It’s ok, she is happy in heaven with Jesus and she’s watching us all now.”
