

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri with Shawn Richardson officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri.
On March 2, 1936, Darlene was born to the late Wayne DuPree and the late Pauline (Moore) DuPree in Stillwater, OK. She was united in marriage to John Dallas Richardson on February 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death. Although she resided in Hallsville, Missouri for most of her life, she spent the last year at Solstice Independent Living Facility in Columbia, Missouri.
Darlene spent 30 years of her career at the Ellis-Fischel Cancer Center and then went on to work at the Senior Center in Columbia for 24 more years. Darlene was a woman of many talents, known for her remarkable skill in crafts, crocheting, and knitting, creating beautiful pieces that were loved by all who received them. She enjoyed line dancing, archery and as well as playing dominos and cards with her senior center friends. A world traveler at heart, Darlene had a deep love for exploring new places. She loved spending time at her Lake home in Warsaw, MO and fishing and family and friends.
She is deeply cherished and will be missed by her children, Daryl Richardson (Sherry) and Debbie Richardson; grandchildren, Derrick Schooler (Molly), Payton Hackmann (Cody), Dallas Richardson, and Anne Moore (Logan); great grandchildren, Corbin Schooler, Carsyn Schooler, Maryn Hackmann, and Beau Hackmann; and brother, Mike DuPree.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, as well as one brother, Richard DuPree.
