Dan was born August 2, 1958 in Boonville, MO to Robert Emmett and Ida Yvonne Pepper Oswald. He was a 1976 graduate of Boonville High School where he excelled on the football field. On August 12, 1978 he married his best friend and the love of his life, Lisa Salzman, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove, MO. The love that he shared with his wife was a love that anyone who knew them could clearly see.
Dan spent his entire career in sales and was gifted in his craft. He began his sales career working for The Kirby Company where he earned the highest sales honor, the President’s Pin, many times over. In 1992, he took his sales experience to Loveall RVs, later owned by Camping World, where he continued his success in sales. Within his first full year with Camping World, Dan was named the top salesperson in the country. Dan's genuine kindness and honesty in his work earned the respect, trust, and friendship of his customers.
Dan was a cradle Catholic and a man of great faith. He took great comfort in knowing when he left his earthly home he would be with his Lord and Savior. Dan was an avid Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals fan, had a passion for gardening and caring for his lawn from atop his John Deere tractors, and relished time spent with his family. His family was his life, and he was immensely proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. The joy on his face when he was around his grandchildren reflected his love for them and they equally loved and adored their Pop and the humorous nicknames he gave each of them. Dan loved his family with great passion.
