A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Entombment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Tracky was born on January 29, 1921 in Boone County, MO the son of Charles Henry and Mary (Terry) Nichols who preceded him in death. He spend most of his childhood being raised by his grandmother and was a graduate of Hickman High School where he got his nickname, Tracky. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served during WWII. Tracky was married on August 19, 1948 in Estes Park, CO to Dorothy Barger who preceded him in death on June 30, 1992. He owned and operated CH Nichols Painting and Decorating where he was a painting contractor; he also built several homes in and around the Columbia area. His favorite pastime was watching sports, motorsports and riding his 4-wheeler on his property. He loved spending his winters at his place in Florida and summers back home with family. In the spring he could be found sitting in the sun outside or planting flowers in front of his house.
Survivors include five children, Terry Nichols (Jenny) of Columbia, MO, Randy Nichols (Nancy) of Lawrence, KS, Brent Nichols (Crystal) of Warsaw, MO, Tracy Nichols (Carole) of Columbia, MO, and Cindy Westmoreland (David) of Columbia, MO; one half-sister, Sandy Root (Jerry) of Manistee, MI 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
