Charles Ray Adams, 84, of Columbia, MO went to be with his heavenly father Monday, August 12, 2024 after a long struggle with dementia. Friends may gather Saturday, August 17 from 10-11am at Rock Bridge Church of God Holiness where he and Shirley were faithful members, 3515 Valencia Drive, Columbia, MO. Funeral service will begin at 11am. Cremation will follow the services.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Shirley Adams, his children; Alan Adams of Columbia, Brian (Donna) Adams of Aurora, IL, Laura Adams of Columbia, MO, Sharlene Thomason of Hinckley, IL; five grandchildren, Andrew & Meaghan Adams, Michael, David, & Matthew Thomason, one great-grandson, Benjamin Thomason; and a brother, Benny (Janet) Adams. He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and his beloved granddaughter, Nicole Adams.
Charles was born in West Ridge, AR to James Leonard and Lula Iceydora Adams. His family moved to Flint, MI where he spent his childhood. He met and married the love of his life, Shirley. They moved to Aurora, IL where they would raise their four children. In 1996, they settled in Columbia, MO where he enjoyed going to football, basketball, and softball games at MU.
While we grieve this loss, we know he entered heaven rejoicing!
