Blaise was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to John and Rose (Gose) Brazos.
Blaise was a gentle, polite man who cared deeply about his family, friends, and the community. He loved and supported his family in many ways. Focus and hard work were his life. Blaise was enthusiastic and intense. He was an intellectual, with a great understanding and a depth of knowledge of many subjects. He enjoyed people and moved in many circles, always happy to share his knowledge, and was ever a kind and patient teacher. A microbiologist, Blaise loved the wonder of water.
