Sending our deepest heartfelt sympathy to the entire family. Al was a truly special man and we know he will be missed. Keeping everyone in mind and sending prayers.

Al was a very dear Friend.  I have been the secretary for Wulff Brothers for almost 20 years.  Al was the "sunshine" of my day.  Al had a passion for life envied by many.  He talked of all the adventures He, Bernice and his Family had taken over the years in their camper.  He even admitted that Bernice could drive the camper better than him!  He often talked of his experiences in the Korean War.  He loved his country and served with dignity!!   We also talked a few times about politics!!! I loved listening to all his knowledge of how our Government worked and he always had his strong opinion of who he was backing in all elections.  Al's greatest treasures were his beautiful bride Bernice and the Family they created together.  He talked daily of how proud he was of Bernice.  He stated many times, "She did it all".  He was so proud of how strong and supportive she was and how she was the rock who kept their Family strong.  Al was also so proud of ALL of his children.  Telling me stories old and new.  I remember one day Al brought a letter to me.  It was a certificate from the University his daughter Linda worked for.  She had her degree as a Professor.  Al was so proud!  We made copies of the certificate so he could share with all his friends.  RIP Al! Every time i see the American Flag, I will hold my hand to my heart and remember YOU!!!

There are so many memories but there are four that stand out. 
 The first was dad's love of water skiing but hatred of getting wet or cold water.  He was masterful at taking off from the dock and landing on shore while only getting wet to his knees.
The second is the day he taught me to drive a truck and horse trailer.  Well, I wrecked a vehicle with less than 100 miles on it and flipped the suv and horse trailer, after we got my sister Susan out of the back seat, I remember standing in the right lane of I-70 east of Booneville shaking glass out of my clothing and wailing "you will never trust me again, Dad. "  He said, "shut up and get out of the highway, it was my fault, I panicked and grabbed the wheel, making us jackknife." Mom still doesn't want to know when I am travelling with the horse trailers.  
The third is the day I got the truck and trailer stuck trying to pull up the steep hill to my horse barn.  I set the brake and got out to unload the horses.  While I was unloading one the truck and trailer started sliding down the hill, it spooked the horse and she got away and ran down the gravel road.  We found her two days later.  When I called dad sobbing that the truck slid down the hill and the horse got loose, he said "quit your bawling,  how bad is the truck and trailer?"  That dang horse will come home, she has it too good to run far."
The fourth is when my brother David put a rubber snake on the path to the lake behind our house on Hulen Drive.  Dad hated snakes, he ran to the garage, got a hoe and proceeded to massacre that rubber snake!  
Our dad was  a caring, honorable man who loved his family and did a good job helping mom raise us, (if I say so myself)!  He loved his family,  parents and brothers deeply, and contributed greatly to the development of Columbia, MO

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; three children, Linda Wulff of West Plains, MO, Susan (Steve) Turner of St. Louis, MO, and David (Barby) Wulff of Columbia; four grandchildren, Meg (Bill) Krenn, Todd (Meg) Turner, and Anne Turner all of St. Louis, and Alex (Emily) Wulff of Columbia; six great grandchildren, Emory, Noah, Liam, and Taylor Krenn, Caitlin Turner, and Jillian Wulff; two brothers, William J. Wulff and Harry J. “Doc” (Phyllis) Wulff of Columbia; sister-in-law, Margaret Wulff of Columbia, and several nieces and nephews.
