Thomas Patrick Durkin

MD, passed away at Lorien Elkridge Nursing Center following a long illness. He is survived by three daughters, Diana Schelero (Anthony) of Frederick, MD; Jeanne Durkin of Columbia, MD; and Dawn Durkin of Laurel, MD. He is also survived by five grandchildren: William Staples (Lauren), Columbia, MD; Katie Halstead, Columbia, MD; Brooklynn Rozier, Laurel, MD; Tony and Tommy Schelero, Frederick, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marie Williams Durkin; his parents, Harold & Estelle Durkin; sister, Nancy Durkin Edwards; and cousin James Francis Durkin III.

He was a 1957 graduate of Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD and 1962 graduate of University of Maryland College Park. He leaves behind longtime childhood friends, Andy Sherbine and John Crovo, also graduates of Northwestern Class of 1957.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Witzke Funeral Homes Inc. 5555 Twin Knolls Rd. Columbia, MD 21045 on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. We will then proceed to Crestlawn Memorial Gardens for a 2:00p.m. Graveside service and interment.
