Grace helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life. I will never forget the positive impact she had on the world.

The time when I lived in Maryland was a difficult time for me, but Grace was one of the amazing people I met there that always made me feel welcome. She would invite me over, make me tea, and talk me through anything I needed. If I just needed to cry for two hours, she was there and ready. I can't put into words the comfort and support she gave to me, and I can't regret my time in Maryland no matter how hard it was, because if I hadn't gone there I never would have been able to meet her. My life is so much warmer since she's been in it, and now I'll work on sending that warmth and love on to those around me who need it. I hope that's a good way to honor her and her kindness. 

Grace was a committed member of our triathlon swim  group.  As adult swimmers, our speeds were similar so we were often lane buddies.   I spent hours swimming at her pace, just to sense her energy and competitive drive - first her in front, then me.   We used to race at the end for fun and she often beat me, coming up, grinning, but not panting near as hard as me.   I still feel her force.  

I only met Grace once (in June 2019 at Dr. Kenneth V. Hardy's Soul Work conference in Stamford, CT), but our brief time together was still delightful.  I will always remember Grace as a loving, patient, and encouraging person with a delightful and uplifting spirit.  We got our photos taken together with Dr. Angela Davis (!) - and that was exciting!  I was hoping to see Grace again at next year's Soul Work conference (2022 in person)...I am so sorry to hear of her passing - and I consider myself lucky to have had the gift of two days in 2019 hanging out with Grace.
