Donna Jean (Kuykendall) Veik was accepted into heaven with family by her side on February 18, 2019. Donna was born on April 11, 1942 to Thurman and Neva Kuykendall of Hennepin, Oklahoma. She was one of five children. The family moved to Corona, California in 1953. Donna graduated from Corona High School in 1960.
Donna met and married Lloyd Veik on June 1, 1968. Together, they had two sons; Lloyd “Dean” and Jeffrey.
Donna enjoyed working at a variety of employment experiences, including Lily Tulip, the phone company and Mental Health facilities. With her retirement in 2000, Donna took on the next chapter of her life as Grammy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking road trips. Donna was extremely caring and loved by many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Neva Kuykendall; husband, Lloyd Veik; sister, Sandi Garland; parents-in-law, John and Johanna “Jennie” Veik; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Backhaus, Melvin Faulkner, Victor Carlson, Robert Joranco, David Chapin, Richard Veik, Jerome “Bud” Veik and James Veik; and sisters-in-law, Wilma Carlson, Lois Veik and Ramona Veik. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her two sons, Dean (Jennifer) and Jeff (Esmeralda); four grandchildren, Beatriz, Trevor, Alison and Brianna; one great-grandchild, Esther; her sisters, Marge Chapin, Betty Trivitt (Harold), and Joyce Faulkner; and brother-in-law, Ed Garland; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends and countless others that love her dearly.
Donna’s life will be celebrated on March 2, 2019 at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary in Colton, California at 2 p.m. A reception at the facility will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org/).
