Donna Jean Larson, 79, of Yucaipa, California, passed away on October 10, 2017, from complications related to multiple myeloma, surrounded by her daughters. Born April 3, 1938, in Clovis, New Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Thomas Parnell and Vera Pauline Parnell and sister to the late Carla Francis Parnell. When Donna was a child, she and her parents moved to San Bernardino, California. Donna attended elementary and junior high school in San Bernardino, and graduated from Pacific High School in 1956. She had four daughters and remained at home with them until 1972, at which time she went to work for the County of San Bernardino. She was employed by the County of San Bernardino for 30 years, culminating in her final post as Chief Budget Analyst for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department until her retirement in 2002. Donna was an avid poker player, reader, and football fan, but first and foremost she was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and, recently, thrilled to finally become a great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Larry E. Larson, four daughters, Verajean Dunwoody, Donarae Dunwoody, Shireen L. Dunwoody, and LeeAnne Dunwoody-Mays (Kenneth), four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She will be laid to rest in a private graveside ceremony at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton, California.
