Sam is survived by his wife of 48 years, Misako, daughter Ani Seumalo and son Ken Seumalo (wife Carol) and two grandsons, Peter Seumalo and David Seumalo.
He loved to play racquetball four days a week at the Drysen Center in Loma Linda.
He travelled to many places around the world with his wife after their retirement. Many of the places they visited included ocean cruises to Alaska and Mexico, a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest via the Rhine, Main and Danube and visits to England, Scotland, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and Canada. They also went white water rafting on the Colorado River, which was on his bucket list. One of his favorites trips was to Hawaii with his wife and grandsons.
He loved football and loved to watch his son play while he grew up and then watch his grandsons play.
