Rohrbaugh at the Rocky Mt. Osteopathic Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was delivered by his
grandfather William Henry Brown.
He was raised on a ranch North of McCoy, Colorado in a four bedroom cabin which was an old
stage stop.
He started his education in a one room schoolhouse for all 12 grades. He graduated from
Longmont High School in Longmont, Colorado in 1960. He received his Associate of Science in
Nursing from the Community College of the Air Force in 1977. He received a Bachelor of Arts in
Anthropology in 1987 from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
He retired in 1982 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant after 22 years of honorable and
decorated service in the US Air Force. He traveled the world working in medical and radar units,
with overseas tours in Korea, Philippines and Germany. He retired from NORAD inside
Cheyenne Mountain.
He married Rosella “Rosie” Jeanne Lovell on October 5, 1962. Together, they had two boys,
James Alan and Richard Scott Brown. They later divorced.
He was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease on February 29, 2003. On October 28, 2005 he
was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and started dialysis. He continued doing dialysis
three days a week until his death.
He is survived by his two sons; James Alan Brown (Nanette), and Richard Scott Brown (Mary),
11 grandchildren; William Alan Brown (Janessa), Bobbi Brown Eddy (Matt), Brance John Brown
(Savana), Jessica Ann Brown, Joshua Richard Brown, Benjaman Thomas Brown and Sarah
June Brown, Molly Carraway, Carson Woodard Carraway, Brandon Patrick Carraway and
Hannah Lynne Carraway, 7 great-grandchildren McCoy Matthew Eddy, Madisyn May Brown,
Adalee Eddy, Walker John Brown, William Hudson Brown, Cormick James Eddy and Colt Dane
Brown, one sister, Peggy Jean Kelsay (Paul), one brother-in-law, Ivan Kelsay and many nieces
and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Treva Brown, and sister
Sherry Kay Kelsay.
We would like to thank his wonderful friends and neighbors for their extraordinary friendship and
selfless service and care for Bill. We would also like to thank the amazing caregivers who took
care of Bill at DaVita and Liberty Dialysis Clinics.
