A graduate of Roy J. Wasson High School, Terry served a brief stint in the US Navy before settling into his career as an auto mechanic, most notably with the City of Colorado Springs, while also simultaneously running his own shop.
In 1968, Terry married his wife Myrna, and they went on to welcome a son and a daughter and then 7 grandchildren. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary shortly before his passing.
Terry loved working on cars, elk hunting, camping in Rocky Mountain National Park, rooting on his beloved Rockies, a hot cup of coffee and a nice cold bottle of Coors Light. He was an expert flea market explorer and could repair and refurbish anything he would find. He was known for his Burt Reynolds cowboy hat, his James Bond VHS tapes, his impressive magic tricks and for being the fastest rubber band shooter in the West.
Terry is survived by his wife, Myrna Smith; his son, Christopher Sarasvati; his daughter, Robyn Neva, and her husband, Brook; grandchildren Riley Thompson, Brennen and Keegan Neva, Tannar and Myranda Sarasvati, and Rose and Max Foster; and the best friends Terry and Myrna could’ve ever asked for, LeRoy and Joyce Willener and their whole family.
A Celebration of Life party will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 11AM-2PM at Patty Jewett Golf Course, 900 E. Espanola Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
