Susan Diane Faraone

Susan D. Faraone, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born in Utica, New York, April 13th, 1951. She attended Utica Free Academy graduating in 1968. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Valdosta State College, Georgia, as well as a Master of Science degree from Sul Ross University, Texas in 1989.

Susan married Michael J. Faraone on May 4th, 1974 in Rome, New York. The wife of an Air Force officer, she relocated frequently to numerous destinations including; Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, New York and Ohio. She worked as a teacher throughout her career as education was very important to her. Sue continued to substitute teach in Las Vegas, never retiring from education.

Susan was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband of 46 years, Michael J Faraone; loving children, Michelle Beth McCallum (Faraone) married to David McCallum of North Hollywood, California; Kevin Michael Faraone married to Katherine Faraone (Printy) of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Jennifer Mahealani Faraone of San Francisco, California; as well as a grandson, Bookhardt Michael David McCallum.

Susan volunteered at the Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas. She also knit 14 hats / week for over four years for newborns at the Centennial Hills Maternity ward.

Visitation will take place Wednesday August 5th from 3-7pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Sue will be buried at the Air Force Academy Cemetery, on August 6th, 2020.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lea Marie Faraone Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis.
