Sigrid “SIGI” Walker, 86, passed away on May 15, 2023 in Colorado Springs, CO. Sigi was born October 6, 1936 in Bronx, NY to William and Martha Dehn. She graduated from Milwaukee University School in 1954. She continued her education at New Mexico State University earning her BS and Master’s Degree in Education and Political Science.
Sigi worked in both the private sector and education through her career. She continued her affiliation with NMSU, as an assistant to the Dean of Engineering, WERC where she helped organize the National Environmental Competition.
Sigi is survived by her husband, R. Michael Walker, sons, Eric (Tami) and Karl (Nadine), Tighe, daughters Katherine, Ann-Michelle (Ged) granddaughters Courtney, Kimberly, Jennifer, Rebecca, Amanda, Alicia, Theresa, Kayla, and Christina, grandsons Isidro, Gustavo, Walker, and Alexander, seven Great Grand Children. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her younger sister Vera.
Sigi and Mike shared a love of trains. She was active in many train organizations over the years, with her favorites being the Pikes Peak Trolley Museum, Palmer Lake Historical Society and the Pueblo Railway Museum. She was always willing to help and published many newsletters for the trolley museum and historical society.
Sigi will be interred at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery. Graveside services will be held on 12 June 13:00 Hours
