At three years old, her and her family moved to California and grew up with her four brothers in a home built by her father on the banks of the American River in the small town of Folsom. Shelbey, ever a ‘tomboy’ and always reminding everyone that she preferred “a ball to a doll”, had many unforgettable ‘Tom Sawyer-like’ adventures there through her growing up years with her brothers.
Shelby was a devoted wife to Robert Eugene Jobson for over fifty years and a loving mother to her children. Her highest calling was to love Jesus as her Lord and Savior and share His love with all who entered her warm and happy home.
It was always her dream to be a homemaker and have a large family—and wow, did her dream come true. 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren can attest to it.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Jobson, her daughters Debbi Worthington (husband Bob), Tracy Lavagnino (husband Dominic), Jennifer Beliveau (Husband Joe), and Sandy Anderson (Husband Mark) and sons Kelly Ellis (wife Etta), Brian Jobson (wife Sarah), and Ron Jobson (wife LM).
She is also survived by her younger brother Jerry Fallon and sister-in-law, Jan Fallon along with many nieces and nephews.
Shelbey was a faithful friend, always a prayer warrior and an encourager with a servant heart for others.
During her free time, she loved to read, especially her Bible, swim, and find a bargain! Her family always came first and being called ‘Grammy’ made her heart burst with joy!
She loved being active and was always so full of life. She shared everything she had with others without hesitation. Enjoying being a piano player herself, she gladly taught others to play the piano too.
Her husband and all the rest of her family miss her tremendously. “We know she is with Jesus and those who have gone on before her. There were joyous reunions with loved ones when she breathed her first breath in heaven; there will be many more to come! We love you, Mom.”
The family is very grateful for all the love and care shared with Mom and Dad by the caregivers from The Palisades at Broadmoor Park, Abode Hospice and Porchlight Friends. Thank you to all for the outpouring of love and support for each of us during this time.
A celebration of her life will be held at Church on the Ranch, Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 13, 2024, at 11:00 am. In early February (date to be determined) there will also be a celebration in California. It will be held at Foothills Church, Cameron Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Samaritan’s Purse.
