Bob was born on June 28, 1929 to Max and Caroline Beham in Toledo, Ohio, the youngest of four children. He spent his formative years in the Ridgewood section of Brooklyn, NY where he first met his childhood sweetheart, Pauline.
He followed his father into the family butcher business in the bustling local German community. In 1950, his life was put on hold when he was drafted to fight in the Korean War. His 14 months on the line, during some of the bitterest fighting, made an indelible mark on his life. He continued to participate and serve in the Colorado Springs VFW the rest of his life.
Bob and Pauline were married in January 1954 in a blizzard, which they always saw as a sign of good luck. They were blessed with three boys. Dancing has been a life-long passion and they have been dancing cheek to cheek for more than 70 years. Their move to Colorado Springs in late 1983 started a new adventure in all our lives.
Bob leaves behind a loving wife, two siblings, his three sons, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren and six great-children, who will all miss him deeply.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am Wednesday July 29 at the Mountain View Funeral Home 2530 Montebello Square Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VFW Post 4051, 430 East Pikes Peak Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
