Phyllis Tyree Hansen was born November 12, 1956, and left this life on August 22, 2011, at the age of 54. She was a resident of Colorado Springs her entire life. Phyllis was a 1974 graduate of Palmer High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Robinson Block.
She married Larry B. Hansen on January 22, 1983.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Bernard Hansen.
Survivors include her husband Larry B. Hansen, parents Lawrence and Evelyn Tyree; 2 sisters, Patty Harris (Leonard) of Moulton, Iowa; Janette Johnson (Charles) of Centralia, Missouri; brother David Tyree (Kristin) of Chariton, Iowa; mother-in-law Alice Hansen of Colorado Springs; 2 sisters – in-law, Janet and Lynne; 17 nephews and nieces, and many friends.
A memorial has been established by the family to the Liberty Foundation. The Liberty foundation supports the Liberty Bell B-17 bomber, a relic from World War II. Phyllis and her husband Larry were active volunteers on the bomber and flew honorary missions from airports around the United States.
