She was born February 1, 1946 in Whittier California, to Ted and Lucy Kosta. In 1947 the Kosta family returned to northwest Iowa to continue operations of the family farm. She graduated from Sutherland High School 1964. She participated in the theatre department and was also a drum majorette.
Patricia married Gary Zinn, also of Iowa, whom she had her only child, Damon Matthew. After moving to Jefferson, Iowa she worked at KDLS radio and at the Bee & Herald newspaper as reporter, editor and photographer.
The Zinn family relocated to Colorado Springs in 1978 where Patricia began an illustrious real estate career until her retirement in 2010. She enjoyed the challenge of selling real estate and the chance to succeed in a profession, which was predominately, male-dominated at that time. Her reputation as a hard worker and a friendly professional are well renowned.
Patricia enjoyed photography, hiking in the great outdoors and traveling.
She is survived by her son Damon Matthew, her sister, Mary Jo Hegel and brother-in-law Tom Hegel of Peterson, Iowa, and her husband Mark Van Horn and his children Hannah and Dylan. Many will miss her, and memories of her kindness, cheerfulness and beauty will no doubt warm our hearts forever.
