Mary Molli-Byron, 100, passed away from this earth peacefully on May 22, 2022. Mary was born on November 27, 1921, in Arnold, PA, the daughter of Gaetano and Antonina Latona. She married Frank Angelo Molli in 1946. Throughout their marriage they lived in Pennsylvania, California, and Tennessee before moving to Colorado Springs in 1988 to be close to their Colorado grandchildren. Frank and Mary enjoyed a loving marriage for 51 years before his passing in 1997. Four years later, Mary met and married Eugene Byron who relocated from Florida to become her husband. Finding each other later in life was a gift they cherished as did both families. Gene and Mary were married for 12 years.
Mary was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Monument, CO. She was full of life and loved by all. She stayed active by participating in many St. Peter Church Ministries, volunteering for years at Antelope Trails Elementary School, engaging in book clubs and several organizations including the Gleneagle Women’s Club. Mary was an avid Mahjong player for 34 years and enjoyed day trips to Cripple Creek during her marriages to Frank and Gene.
Mary is survived by her brother Anthony (Helen) Latona of Columbus, Ohio, her son Frank Peter (Lorrie) Molli of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son-in-law Jim Noble of San Jose, California, three grandchildren Angela Molli-Knigge (Jake), Andrea Molli, Christina Noble (Josh), and great grandson Bennett Noble Pitchford. Stepchildren include Carole Mattice Vorpahl (Tom), Ann Byron Carnell (Rick), Gene Byron (Diane), and Teresa Byron Amen (Bill). Stepson Barry Byron (Jane) departed this earth in 2012.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, brother John Latona, sister Josephine Ceccarelli, sister-in-law Mary Molli, brother-in-law Louis Molli and wife Mary. In 2015, Mary lost her beloved daughter Anita Marie Noble to cancer.
The number of memories that her family hold dear are too numerous to count but standing strongly among them are her Friday Italian night pasta meals that she lovingly prepared and served to family and friends for more than 30 years.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 N. Jefferson Street, Monument, Colorado on Tuesday, June 7th. It will be preceded by recitation of the Rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting monetary donations be made to St. Peter Church. A graveside service and burial will take place on July 18, 2022, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado where Mary will be laid to rest beside Frank.
