Mary, a life-long Colorado Springs, Colorado resident passed away November 4, 2011, at the age of 101. She was born at Glockner Hospital (now Penrose) June 16, 1910 to Joseph and Angela Del Mastro. On March 12, 1929, Mary married Michael Cimino, also a Colorado Springs native, at Pauline Chapel.
She was a homemaker until the death of her husband in 1974, at which time she became the sole owner of the family’s small business, Dytri and Cimino. She retired and closed the store December 17, 1999.
Mary was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a former member of The Broadmoor Golf Club.
In addition to her husband, Mike; she was preceded in death by two daughters, Marlene (1949) and Sharon (1965). She is survived by two daughters, Barbara and Melba; three nieces, Josephine Johnson, Tamra Alexander (John), and Deborah Eskola of Aurora CO; four nephews, Clay Chambers (Jo Ann), The Woodlands TX, Robert Chambers (Reggie), Boulder CO, Mark Chambers (Cindy) Dallas TX , Joe Chambers, Denver CO, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would request that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Mary’s name.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Interment following at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
