Mary Ann Cameron, 80, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her home on July 13, 2016. She was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota on March 1, 1936, the first of four children born to the late Ernest and Laurette Johnson. Mary Ann graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School in 1954. After graduation, she attended cosmetology school and was a hairstylist for 4 years.
Mary Ann married Thomas Cameron on November 10, 1956 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Together, they raised two sons. As the wife of an Air Force veteran, Mary Ann was a loving homemaker and supported her husband during his 23 year military career. Later in life, Mary Ann began her career in women’s retail clothing sales. Mary Ann and Tom have resided in Colorado Springs for the last 42 years.
Mary Ann was a member of the Retired Enlisted Association Ladies Auxiliary. Family and friends were extremely important in her life. She enjoyed going on vacations, shopping and eating out.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Thomas; loving children, Craig of Phoenix, Arizona; Lance of Colorado Springs, Colorado; precious grandchildren, Austin, Tommy, Tayler and Eric; and great grandchild Brooke; siblings Warren and Gary and was preceded in death by sister Patricia; as well as a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 5:00 – 8:00pm at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to especially thank the staff of Pike Peak’s Hospice and Palliative Care for their help and support.
