Loren A. Swenson

Surrounded by loved ones, Loren Arthur Swenson, born August 22nd, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, peacefully ended his battle with cancer the morning of October 25th, 2012. Loren was the son of Elmer and Moneta Swenson. He was the loving husband and best friend of Ruth for over 50 years. He is survived by his three children Lora (Colander), Tim and Jon and his brother John O. Swenson. Loren was a faithful servant in all aspects of his life. Everywhere he went God radiated through his smile, attitude, and work. He was a coach, friend and mentor to all that knew him. He lived a life of service through a 43 year career with the Boy Scouts of America and constant involvement with the Methodist Church. Loren was a loving grandparent actively shaping seven incredible young lives. Loren was involved in the Colorado Springs community serving as the Scout Executive/CEO of the Pikes Peak Council, BSA for 18 years. He served locally as a Rotarian, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Docent, and as a leader within the Tri Lakes United Methodist Church. Services will be held 2pm Sunday October 28th, at the Tri Lakes United Methodist Church 20256 Hunting Downs Way, Monument, CO 80132.

The Swenson family has asked that donations be made in lieu of flowers to either the Pikes Peak Council Boy Scouts of America or Tri Lakes United Methodist Church in Monument.
