Longtime resident, Leslie H. Kincaid went to be with Our Lord, on Wednesday, January 11th. He was born on August 20, 1923, to Carl and Sarah Kincaid, in Sparland, Illinois. He came to Colorado Springs in 1943 assigned to the 89th Infantry Division, Ft. Carson, and got out of the Army as a Staff Sargent, at the end of WWII.
He married Doris A. Roller, on March 15, 1944, and from that union had two sons; Alan and Duane. The couple lived on the West Side in their first and only home for 67 years.
Les, retired as a Post Engineer (civil service) at Fort Carson, following many years of faithful service. He was a Past Master of El Paso Lodge No.13 A.F. & A.M, and life time member of DAV. Les was active with the Boy Scouts for many years, and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He loved fishing, gardening, and being a good neighbor. He and Doris enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and after Les’ retirement hundreds of miles of traveling in their motor home. Since April, 2011, he has been a resident of Winslow Court.
He is survived by his two Sons; Alan (Shirley) Kincaid of Arvada, and Duane (Jo) Kincaid of Fountain, three Grandchildren; Kimberly (Greg) Teel of Colorado Springs, Timothy (Tina) Kincaid of Brighton, and Shellie (Lenin) Ruiz of Fountain, also by six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Doris, his parents, two sisters; Lucille and Velma, a brother Scott, and a grandson Chris Kincaid.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Memorial Gardens Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Instead of flowers the family requests memorials be given to Pikes Peak Hospice, 826 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80903.
