Juanita J. Moon

Juanita was born in LaJunta, Colorado, on October 7, 1925, to Sam Hugh and Naomi Fawcett Williams. She was raised on her parents’ cattle ranch in Kim, Colorado. She married Perry William Moon on August 16, 1946 in Pueblo, Colorado. Juanita received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwest Nazarene College in 1950.

In 1956 Juanita and her husband Bill began a 31 year career with the Church of the Nazarene. She served as a missionary nurse in southern Africa. Her service led her to Portugal, Mozambique, and Swaziland (now Eswatini). Her passion was always for the people of Africa.

After retiring from the mission field, Juanita and Bill ran the bookstore at the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She joined Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene. She particularly enjoyed her involvement with The Tool Shed – a Sunday school class full of good friends.

Juanita was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harold Williams and Paul Williams. She is survived by her sister, Joan Hendrix, daughter Beverly (J.R.) Bradley, son Mike (Valerie) Moon, grandchildren Kirstin Bradley (Randall Price), Caitlin Bradley (Wei Wei Qin), Jennifer (Mark) Henderson, Lindsay (Derrick) Glover and great grandchildren Anya Henderson, Tristan Glover and Megan Glover.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00 AM on June 24, 2019, at the chapel at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
